Lucky in Love

I am kind of a fan of irony and there’s more than a little of that to this song. It came along while I was stilll hard hit by the abrupt end of what I’d allowed to become, for my part, a love affair. But it’s a nice song and I agree with what it has to say.

Lucky in Love

G                           C

To be lucky in love

You can’t stay

Am                              Fma7

In your little hideaway

C                               G

You got to get out in the world

C                   G

That’s where the dance is

G                                                C

And though the sweeter the love

G

If it passes away

Am                         Fma7

The higher the price to pay

C                               G

If you like the taste of love

C

You’ve got to take your chances

G

Better to love and lose at love

C

Than never love at all

G

And if love calls my name again

C

I’ll heed the call

F

Ooh the passion and the pain

C                             Am

The sunshine and the rain

G

I do believe

C

I never ever loved in vain

I’ve been lucky in love

Lucky, lucky me

Though you never know for sure

What was real and what was fantasy

Does it really matter

If you can look back and see

It was your good fortune

To be in love

Better to love and lose at love

Than never love at all

And if love calls my name again

I’ll heed the call

I’ve known the passion and the pain

The sunshine and the rain

But I do believe

I never did love in vain
